1919 NL Game of the Week, 25 May: Cardinals at Giants

It’s the 1919 National League Game of the Week, as 23-year-old Rogers Hornsby and the Cardinals come to Upper Manhattan to face the Giants. New York (13-8) are locked in a wild scramble at the top of the League, with four teams within a single game of each other, while the Cardinals (9-14) have steadied the ship after a rough start to the season. This week’s episode of “Deadball Portraits” will feature Cardinals first sacker Gene Paulette – the eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that he has been in the news recently!
