REGULAR SEASON RECAP
A three-way sarabande is prolonged deep into September but in the end the A’s wriggle free of the Yankees and Red Sox to lock down their maiden AL Pennant.
The Cards do it easy, breaking the Buccos’ stranglehold on the NL and clinching in early September.
Plenty of top-notch play from the NeL gang, with Grant Johnson again excelling and both Pete Hill and Regino Garcia set to be Harry Lumley’s biggest threats in NL RoY voting.
This is Sol White’s final season in the game.

AL STAT LEADERS

NL STAT LEADERS

PLAYOFFS
A first Championship in the offing for the victor.
The Athletics win a seesawing opener in the Loo and take a 2-0 lead back to Philly after a much more decisive Game 2 win, with 3 HR from Harry Davis and the absence through injury of Cards OF Homer Smoot each a major factor.
Looking down the barrel of a third straight defeat, the Redbirds rally late to take Game 3 and nearly repeat the feat the following day before the Athletics rebound to prevail by a run.
Philly wraps up its maiden title at the first opportunity with another tight win.
4 homers and 11 RBI for the series make Harry Davis a most deserving Most Valuable Player.

1904 RECAP
Nap Lajoie wins another unanimous AL MVP, his third, with Cy Seymour taking out his first in the NL.
Maiden CYAs to Frank Owen and Bob Wicker.
Harry Lumley prevails in the NL RoY, with Cleveland’s Spike Shannon winning it in the AL.
Tom Walker of the Browns and Pittsburgh’s Ed Poole take out the reliever awards.
No love at all for the NeLers this awards season.
