Welcome to the SABR Games and Simulations Fantasy Leagues. We assembled 3 weekly transaction leagues in 2023 and are expanding with a daily transaction league in 2024 using the rules outlined below.
You can view our 2024 SABR G&S Weekly Leagues here:
2024 Leagues will be hosted on the Fantrax Fantasy Baseball website
Only “virtual” dollars will be utilized – no money will be exchanged
League(s) purpose – enjoyment, competition and bragging rights with potential to research or explore whether any particular team construction methods consistently out-perform others.
We are looking for one or more volunteers to be league commissioners, depending on the number of team entries we receive
You can participate in more than one league (this will be determined on based on date/time when you respond that you are interested) as it may be necessary to fill in any gaps in a league
Three 12-team weekly transaction leagues using standard 5×5 categories:
Batting – Batting Average, Runs Scored, Home Runs, Runs Batted In, Stolen Bases
You may keep up to 8 players going into the next season, at their previous season’s salary plus 5 “virtual” dollars. You need to have enough money to spend on players at the next auction/draft, even if that’s one dollar per player, in order to fill out your roster.

Baseball Sim Auction Leagues
We would like to offer the opportunity to participate in a Baseball Sim Auction league during the off-season. Committee member Andy Palomino is the commissioner / auctioneer and the brains behind Baseball Sim Auctions.
Here’s how it works:
Each General Manager selects a historical team – every team in MLB history going back to 1901 is available. (example: 1927 NYY, 1941 BOS, 1962 NYM, 1977 TOR, 2003 DET). Each Sim Auction League will be limited to 6 to 8 GM’s.
The players from the historical teams are made free agents and will serve as the player pool to create new teams during the auction.
Each General Manager starts the auction with $260 Sim dollars (a means to conduct the auction – not real money). The Auction will be scheduled with all of the participants and conducted via Zoom.
Each GM must purchase 26 players. Each team will need to meet innings pitched, plate appearance and defensive position requirements.
Each GM selects a Micro Manager to manage their team during the season simulation. You can choose from a collection of 88 Micro Managers.
A World Series is played to determine the best team – each “game” of the series is represented by the simulation of an entire season, the team that wins 4 out of 7 seasons, wins the World Series!
The APBA Baseball for Windows (BBW) computer program is used to conduct the season simulations (also scheduled and conducted via ZOOM) – games are simulated in small batches, the goal being to keep the process to approximately 1 hour. This will allow participants to watch the results in real-time.
The auction and season simulation Zoom meetings will be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel.

You do not need to be a committee member, SABR member or purchase anything in order to participate. Please contact us via sabrbaseballgaming@gmail.com if you are interested!
